Position: Sr. Programmer Analyst
General Duties
Design, Develop, and test business automation systems and utilities using
Delphi, ASP, and .NET (VB and C#). Write code for various
existing systems as well
as new development projects. Research possible solutions and build
prototypes for new components and applications. Develop applications
using MSSQL, Paradox, Btrieve, and proprietary flat-file
database(s). Maintain and administer SourceSafe
repositories. Develop solutions to convert legacy applications
from DOS to Windows, Btrieve to SQL, etc. Analyze software processes and
methodologies and recommend improvements. Maintain and develop Internet
Banking software using C++, SQL, and ASP.
Specific Projects/Accomplishements
- Designed and developed program to convert a number
of flat-file formats to a common format/database.
- Designed and developed proprietary text handling classes
that can be used to read/write fixed-length order files. These classes
drastically shorten the development time for new [custom] conversions.
- Designed and developed dynamic conversion program that
allows the user to specify format and conversion rules on the fly (without
recompiling). This program saves hundreds of hours per year in
development and testing time.
- Developed custom Delphi-based DLLs to interface with
Liberty web services (also developed sample programs for web service
interfaces using C/C++, Java, VB, and VBScript).
- Developed encryption and key management system that allows
sensitive data to be encrypted/decrypted without exposing the key (outside
of memory).
- Designed and developed several utilities that are used on a
daily basis for a number of different tasks.

Designed and developed system utilities and business applications using
Delphi 2.x and Delphi 3.x. Wrote code for Client/Server system using Delphi
3.x and Microsoft SQL Server 6.5. Maintained MSSQL database, and developed
installation scripts and programs. Supported staff of four software engineers.
Provided development solutions and suggestions for an ever-changing system.
Worked with system architect to identify requirements and design specifications.
Controlled software changes and implemented fixes. Managed test team and test
equipment. Developed, implemented, and managed test plans, test requirements,
and test cases. Provided third-level telephone support for field staff, end-users, and
sales personnel.

- Reduced installation time to less than 30 minutes from over 4 hours
- Developed automated database configuration utility
- Headed software documentation and testing effort to obtain FDA certification
- Developed software development guidelines and engineering procedures.
